The audience thought a goal was coming when Válter Custódio got free with Luís Gustavo de Queiroz in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luiz Magalhães in the 17th minute of play forced Butineiros's goalkeeper Sidney Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Butineiros's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz Magalhães came free, but Sidney Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Vicente Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Butineiros's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Gustavo de Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Butineiros's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Cerezo came free, but Sidney Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Samuel Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Cerezo in the 30th minute of play forced Butineiros's goalkeeper Sidney Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vânderson Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vânderson Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vânderson Silva hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Itaimbezinho's Joaquim Cerezo got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Pedro Luiz Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Luiz Magalhães took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sidney Matorin. Sidney Matorin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Itaimbezinho were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Samuel Vides made the kick off in the second half. Luís Gustavo de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Itaimbezinho's Víktor de Alcântara got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Sidney Matorin didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. When Vânderson Silva was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 59 minutes had been played. A collision led to Itaimbezinho getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Vânderson Silva hit a great ball. Joaquim Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Matorin having to interfere. Vicente Araújo struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Luís Gustavo de Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Butineiros. After a rather tough play, Itaimbezinho's Pedro Luiz Magalhães got a free kick in the 68th minute. Pedro Luiz Magalhães's late challenge caught a Butineiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Luiz Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. After 72 played minutes Itaimbezinho got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luiz Magalhães. In the 76th minute, Joaquim Cerezo made a precise shot to the right of Sidney Matorin. Butineiros's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Butineiros's Sidney Matorin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Butineiros from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Butineiros's Nilton de Salles got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Válter Custódio's late challenge caught a Itaimbezinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 88th minute, Pedro Luiz Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Itaimbezinho's Joaquim Cerezo came free and shot a quick shot against goal 90 minutes in the game, fortunately Sidney Matorin had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 93 minutes into the game, Nilson Tepedino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Butineiros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaimbezinho the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Butineiros:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itaimbezinho:s goal. Butineiros:s Sidney Matorin showed great skill when he stopped Zé Tavares:s penalty. When the final whistle sounded Itaimbezinho left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Butineiros.
