Agreste SC's Serafim Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho Valadares in the 24th minute of play. If Jefferson Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zézinho Valadares made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Horácio Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Agreste SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Horácio Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dênis Pimenta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Valadares in the 56th minute of play forced Agreste SC's goalkeeper Serafim Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Janari's Zézinho Valadares was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 61st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Agreste SC booed when Janari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zézinho Valadares struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Serafim Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Janari. The Agreste SC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Janari were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
