The supporters of Maloca booed when Agreste SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horácio Paraibano during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Horácio Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Celso Villasana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. In the 24thth minute of the game Isidor Ricoy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Agreste SC's Serafim Baptista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Agreste SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Artur Pitta was slow to take the kick. During this time Maloca's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 32 minutes, Celso Villasana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maloca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Villasana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Villasana got free with Serafim Baptista in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Horácio Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Remo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 52nd minute, Celso Villasana made a precise shot to the right of Serafim Baptista. Agreste SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Isidor Ricoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafim Baptista having to interfere. Serafim Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidor Ricoy in the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Agreste SC's Valdemar Mattos got a free kick in the 59th minute. Isidor Ricoy might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Serafim Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Isidor Ricoy ran back to his position shaking his head. 62 minutes into the game, Maloca's Celso Villasana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serafim Baptista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. In the 66th match minute, Maloca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeff Cain to maneuver through the defense. Horácio Paraibano hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Valdemar Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Maloca's Isidor Ricoy got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Agreste SC's goalkeeper Serafim Baptista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Evaristo de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evaristo de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maloca's Isidor Ricoy got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Celso Villasana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 minutes, Valdemar Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Agreste SC and the Maloca players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Agreste SC's Valdemar Mattos got a free kick in the 83rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isidor Ricoy in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serafim Baptista saved Agreste SC from getting behind. In the 87th minute Isidor Ricoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafim Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafim Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidor Ricoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
