The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kaká Marques hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 11 minutes, Kaká Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chagas and the Encano AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pedro Augusto Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Gabriel da Mata having to interfere. When Chagas's Pedro Augusto Carioca in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Cipriano Antunes was a little too slow when Renato Sampaio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-0. Cipriano Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Dedé de Sena hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Tiago Gabriel da Mata successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cipriano Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Cabral in the 58th minute of play. Percival Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Tiago Gabriel da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Gabriel da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Augusto Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato Sampaio hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Encano AD's Tiago Gabriel da Mata got control of the ball when Percival Velloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chagas's Cipriano Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Félix in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Percival Velloso fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sérgio Félix in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cipriano Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Gugu Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Gugu Cabral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cipriano Antunes was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. 87 minutes into the match, Chagas's Percival Velloso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiago Gabriel da Mata narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Encano AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chagas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
