The score was now 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Lúcio Linares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Almir de Lara. Andromeda FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lúcio Linares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 21st minute, Caco Félix made a precise shot to the right of Almir de Lara. Andromeda FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Almir de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Coutinho in the 26th minute of the match. Almir de Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Lúcio Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Andromeda FC's Paulão Gerber dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. In the 34th match minute, Andromeda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armandinho Tasso to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio Coutinho in the 35th minute of play forced Andromeda FC's goalkeeper Almir de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Andromeda FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Betão Varela was slow to take the kick. During this time Muruja's players had a chance to rest. Andromeda FC's Almir de Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Coutinho in the 40th minute of play. Juninho Gaúcho succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 42nd playminute. Caco Félix blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Almir de Lara having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jânio Coutinho made a kick off. Adriano Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 52 minutes, Juninho Gaúcho made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. Muruja's Ricardo Guedes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 60th minute, Caco Félix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Muruja's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Gaúcho came free, but Ricardo Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Muruja's zone, Adriano Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Guedes came out of the goal and Adriano Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Linares in the 70th minute of play forced Andromeda FC's goalkeeper Almir de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Muruja defense, Juninho Gaúcho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Guedes. The Muruja fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Guedes should have stopped the shot. Juninho Gaúcho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Guedes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Gaúcho in the 77th minute of play forced Muruja's goalkeeper Ricardo Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Júlio Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Andromeda FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dagoberto Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ricardo Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juninho Gaúcho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Guedes having to make a save. 88 minutes into the match, Andromeda FC's Adriano Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Guedes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 90thth minute of the game Juninho Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Muruja's Ricardo Guedes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dagoberto Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Muruja's Caco Félix got a free kick in the 94th minute. After 96 played minutes Muruja got a freekick which was hit by Agostinho Quaresma. Andromeda FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
