In the 4th minute, Ivo Cruz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Rubinho de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 21 played minutes Campo Grande F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Charles Brodel. Habeas Corpus F.C.'s Ivo Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leandro Linares during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes Habeas Corpus F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Linares. In the 27th minute of the match Aílton Eger sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rubinho de Sena skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Habeas Corpus F.C. getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Fellipe Zonta hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Luiz Arantes in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho de Sena saved Habeas Corpus F.C. from getting behind. Leopoldo Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Rubinho de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Vicente Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute of the match Conrado Vergílio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Júlio Trevisan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Campo Grande F.C.'s Júlio Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Cruz in the 39th minute of play. Maicon Teles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Júlio Trevisan made a huge save. A collision led to Campo Grande F.C. getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Rafa Sarmento hit a great ball. Habeas Corpus F.C.'s Maicon Teles managed to work through Campo Grande F.C.'s defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Maicon Teles dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.

Vicente Sá hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Conrado Vergílio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Júlio Trevisan. Campo Grande F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Leopoldo Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Campo Grande F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubinho de Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Márcio Saldanha charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Márcio Saldanha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Habeas Corpus F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márcio Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Luiz Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Rubinho de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ivo Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Ivo Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leopoldo Ramalho came free with the goalkeeper in the 80th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rubinho de Sena could save by the left post. Campo Grande F.C.'s Júlio Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Márcio Saldanha in the 84th minute of play. Campo Grande F.C.'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
