Grêmio SM Futebol Clube's Kaká Valadares managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Adrianinho Hoffmann in the 16 minute of the game. After some careless play in the Grêmio SM Futebol Clube defense, Nikola Omayski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Abraão. The Grêmio SM Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Abraão should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute, Grêmio SM Futebol Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nikola Omayski fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 25th minute Eliseu Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A very good chance. After 31 minutes of play, Galheiro FC's Adrianinho Hoffmann made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tony Abraão was left in no man's land by his defense there! 34 minutes into the game, Laerte Marquez threw the ball into play from the sideline. Grêmio SM Futebol Clube's Remo Pirani quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Nikola Omayski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Adrianinho Hoffmann in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Grêmio SM Futebol Clube's Kaká Valadares. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Augusto Moreira was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Nikola Omayski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony Abraão was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. 59 minutes into the match, Grêmio SM Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Nikola Omayski came free, but Tony Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Galheiro FC's zone, Andrézinho Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mattias Tham came out of the goal and Andrézinho Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eliseu Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galheiro FC's protests and gave Eliseu Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. Eliseu Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. When Adrianinho Hoffmann fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Grêmio SM Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nikola Omayski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Galheiro FC fully deserved thier win.
