Alfredo Braga took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdemar Cruz. Valdemar Cruz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Norberto Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jefferson Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walmir Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Norberto Alves struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Walmir Moreno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curituba. Jefferson Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Moreno having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jefferson Arruda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walmir Moreno was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Jefferson Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alfredo Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Curituba's Valdemar Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Mendonça in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romário Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. Norberto Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Lobos Futebol Clube's Walmir Moreno got control of the ball when Norberto Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot 72 in the game by Norberto Alves from a close distance when the talented Walmir Moreno managed to make a qualified save. Lobos Futebol Clube's players were relieved. The supporters of Curituba booed when Lobos Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Emanuel Rosado sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Walmir Moreno threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Emanuel Rosado this time. In the 84th match minute, Curituba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Pedro Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Norberto Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmir Moreno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. 1-1 became the score in the 89th minute when Jefferson Arruda elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Alfredo Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Romário Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
