Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Belmiro Novaes made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the match, Cantori AD's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Loureiro came free, but Cesinha Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adhemar Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Cléber Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cantori AD's Sidney Travassos in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montesina EC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 6th minute, Paulo José Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Novaes in the 9th minute of play forced Cantori AD's goalkeeper Cesinha Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Luiz Paulo Alvarenga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cantori AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montesina EC the free kick. The supporters of Montesina EC booed when Cantori AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Falcão Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cantori AD's Cesinha Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falcão Loureiro in the 23rd minute of play. Cesinha Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Novaes in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Belmiro Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montesina EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belmiro Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Montesina EC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Benjamin Sena hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Sidney Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37thth minute of the game Falcão Loureiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cantori AD's Cesinha Fernandes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Falcão Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Fernandes having to interfere. Cantori AD's Cesinha Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belmiro Novaes in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidney Travassos made a kick off. Adhemar Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléber Abreu having to interfere. After 54 played minutes Montesina EC got a freekick which was hit by Didi Prestes. In the 59thth minute of the game Sidney Travassos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montesina EC's Cléber Abreu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cesinha Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Novaes in the 60th minute of play. Cantori AD's Cesinha Fernandes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Cantori AD from getting a goal against them. Humberto Neiva's late challenge caught a Montesina EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Neiva helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cantori AD getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Humberto Neiva hit a great ball. Falcão Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Falcão Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 76 played minutes Cantori AD got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Travassos. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
