Claudinei Matos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manfredo Leite's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. After 4 minutes of play, Charitas's Cássio Aguiar made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Paiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg William Paiva managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Charitas's Cássio Aguiar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manoel Salgado in the 10th minute of play forced Charitas's goalkeeper Claudinei Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cássio Aguiar got free with William Paiva in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, Cássio Aguiar notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Estrela Vermelha's William Paiva. William Paiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Charitas's Claudinei Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel Salgado in the 19th minute of play. José Pedro Dionísio charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Pedro Dionísio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Estrela Vermelha's Elano Simões was substituted for Guto de Alcântara. After 23 played minutes Charitas got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Dionísio. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manoel Salgado was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes of play Charitas's José Pedro Dionísio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Elano Simões hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Estrela Vermelha's zone, Cássio Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Paiva came out of the goal and Cássio Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elano Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Charitas's goalkeeper Claudinei Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manoel Salgado. 75 minutes into the game, Charitas's Gabriel Rosado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. William Paiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Manoel Salgado came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Claudinei Matos could save by the left post. Manoel Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Matos having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Cássio Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Charitas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arthur Martins hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Diogo Neves hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. The supporters of Estrela Vermelha booed when Charitas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position.
