Gugu Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Corrêa in the 4th minute of the match. If Serginho Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gugu Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandrinho Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dida Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cerrito AD's Serginho Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Betinho Pereira made a precise shot to the right of Toninho Palmeira. Cerrito AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Dida Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rômulo Breckenfeld during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th match minute, Cerrito AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Breckenfeld to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Cerrito AD defense, Betinho Pereira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Toninho Palmeira. The Cerrito AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Toninho Palmeira should have stopped the shot. In the 44th match minute, Bagaco SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Gugu Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandrinho Tavares to make the kick off. Cerrito AD's Toninho Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betinho Pereira in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Bagaco SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wanderson Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. Betinho Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Palmeira having to interfere. Dida Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gugu Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Serginho Corrêa sent off a good shot on target. Dida Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Toninho Palmeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Sandrinho Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Gugu Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bagaco SS's Gugu Figueiredo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Bagaco SS from getting a goal against them. Bagaco SS were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cerrito AD for a fine match.
