Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Danilo Esteves started the match with the kick off. Gugu Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Esteves in the 3rd minute of the match. Cacá Soares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Hudson Mazza was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Giovanni Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Queirós having to interfere. Luiz Gustavo Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gugu Romero having to interfere. In the 19thth minute of the game Danilo Esteves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cotejipe AD's Gugu Romero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Raúl de Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cotejipe AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arez the free kick. In the 20th minute, Raúl de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Cotejipe AD's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Esteves came free, but Gugu Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Giovanni Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 25th minute, Olívio Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giovanni Baptista struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Abel Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cotejipe AD. Cotejipe AD's Gugu Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Esteves in the 29th minute of play. If Danilo Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Cotejipe AD defense, Luiz Gustavo Marinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gugu Romero. The Cotejipe AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gugu Romero should have stopped the shot. Thomás Tande's late challenge caught a Cotejipe AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomás Tande helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Arez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Tande to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giovanni Baptista to strike the kick off in the second half. Giovanni Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Arez's Válter Peres got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, Giovanni Baptista made a precise shot to the right of Abel Queirós. Arez's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 58 minutes into the game, Giovanni Baptista cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Abel Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tiago Massa hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Arez's Abel Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Arez from getting a goal against them. Raúl de Amaral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Abel Queirós skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Giovanni Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Abel Queirós made a huge save. Wellington Arce hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Giovanni Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Queirós having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cotejipe AD's zone, Danilo Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gugu Romero came out of the goal and Danilo Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Esteves in the 80th minute of play forced Cotejipe AD's goalkeeper Gugu Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Danilo Esteves came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Arez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danilo Esteves couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Thomás Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wellington Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Abel Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 97 minutes, Giovanni Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cotejipe AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovanni Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Cotejipe AD could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Arez throughout the match.
