But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Damião couldn't finish the play. Toninho Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Renato Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Araguaya's Toninho Damião in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in Palheta SC's zone, Toninho Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renato Silveira came out of the goal and Toninho Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute, Eliézer Bastos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Paranaense was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Toninho Damião might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renato Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Toninho Damião ran back to his position shaking his head. Araguaya's Toninho Damião got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Araguaya's Erik Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Arantes in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Philipp Munachi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Toninho Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Philipp Munachi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Silveira having to interfere. Palheta SC's Renato Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Damião in the 92nd minute of play. In the 97th minute Toninho Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Araguaya were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
