The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Itaitinga's goalkeeper Marco Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erik de Alcântara. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilian de Godoy during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Itaitinga booed when Enoshima Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian de Godoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Marcial Ticho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marco Pinheiro, 1-0. In the 14th minute, Marcial Ticho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute Geovânio Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuca Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuca Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 played minutes Itaitinga got a freekick which was hit by Samuca Baptista. After 20 minutes of play Itaitinga's Samuca Baptista was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 20 minutes into the game, one of Itaitinga:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, Enoshima Futebol Clube's David Freitas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Marco Pinheiro. Geovânio Tróia charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovânio Tróia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 29 played minutes Itaitinga got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio Tróia. If Erik de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35thth minute of the game David Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaitinga's Marco Pinheiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marco Pinheiro made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Erik de Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. If Wilian de Godoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Enoshima Futebol Clube defense, Bruno Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdir Novaes. The Enoshima Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdir Novaes should have stopped the shot. Erik de Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Marco Pinheiro made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, David Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Enoshima Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but David Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geovânio Tróia made a kick off. Erik de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute, Marcial Ticho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik de Alcântara in the 59th minute of play. David Freitas took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Pinheiro. Marco Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Marco Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilian de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. David Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erik de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Marco Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Ticho in the 72nd minute of play. Erik de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Enoshima Futebol Clube's Washington Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Erik de Alcântara notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Itaitinga's Marco Pinheiro. Marco Pinheiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Enoshima Futebol Clube's Washington Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erik de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Marco Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
