But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luiz de Salles couldn't finish the play. If Antônio Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wágner Paraibano might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 温崇思. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wágner Paraibano ran back to his position shaking his head. 温崇思 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Botelho in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Valaraukar F. Thanks to some nice moves Wágner Paraibano could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which 温崇思 however easily saved by the left post. An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Wágner Paraibano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, 温崇思 successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Bacaba's Paulinho Madureira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of 温崇思. That made the score 1-0 after 43 minutes of play. 温崇思 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antônio Botelho made a kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Bacaba's Wágner Paraibano made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. 温崇思 was left in no man's land by his defense there! 温崇思 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
