Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernandão Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginaldo Antunes in the 9th minute of the match. Fernandão Salles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Reginaldo Antunes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. Célio Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Paraíba in the 16th minute of play. If Reginaldo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kiko Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Cabral having to interfere. In the 34th minute Kiko Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Unidos da Vila FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jailson de Godoi hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reginaldo Antunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juan Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Cabral having to interfere. When Kiko Vale came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Unidos da Vila FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiko Vale couldn't finish the play. In the 66th match minute, Paranapolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Renato de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Jailson de Godoi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Célio Cabral. Paranapolis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Paranapolis's goalkeeper Célio Cabral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Paraíba got free with Célio Cabral in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dinei Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernandão Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dinei Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Paranapolis fans cheered their team off the field, for while Unidos da Vila FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
