Amadeu Schmidt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magno Nóbrega in the 22nd minute of play. Nando Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Hermínio Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilmar de Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Amadeu Schmidt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Timbora.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nando Miranda to strike the kick off in the second half. 2-1 became the score in the 56th minute when Nando Miranda elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Timbora getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Luiz Fábio Sá hit a great ball. Júlio de Sousa's late challenge caught a Timbora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio de Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Iepe's Júlio de Sousa got a free kick in the 66th minute. Amadeu Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. If Magno Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 played minutes Iepe got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Vianna. When Timbora's Emanuel Pitta in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iepe's goalie prevented a goal. Emanuel Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Schmidt having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Iepe's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Pitta came free, but Amadeu Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeu Schmidt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Magno Nóbrega in the 95th minute. Iepe were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
