The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to AZ Falcons getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. In the 15thth minute of the game Cido Pires who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flachambi's Mário Araújo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leandro Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Mário Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Flachambi's Francisco Arce in the 49th minute got a chance for a shot 49th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AZ Falcons's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cido Pires to make the kick off. Cido Pires could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Mário Araújo made a huge save. Flachambi's Beto Vides got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. The referee ordered Beto Vides off the ground. In the 54th minute, Beto Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 played minutes Flachambi got a freekick which was hit by Marco Peres. After a rather tough play, AZ Falcons's Leandro Moraes got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience was convinced that Eliseu Quadros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mário Araújo was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Moraes got free with Mário Araújo in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Flachambi booed when AZ Falcons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. AZ Falcons's attack was well implemented in the 94th minute, but when Leandro Moraes was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Cido Pires kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mário Araújo. That made the score 1-2 in the 96 minute of play. The Flachambi supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AZ Falcons's performance. The match ended with a win for AZ Falcons.
