In the 5th match minute, Itaporã was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Reis to maneuver through the defense. Franklin Magalhães came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edgard Van Der Straeten could save by the left post. After 8 played minutes TIJUCA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Neves. 13 minutes into the match, TIJUCA F.C's Andrézinho Nóbrega sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgard Van Der Straeten narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Lino Paranaense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard Van Der Straeten was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After 16 played minutes Itaporã got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Carvalho. In the 19th minute of the match, Andrézinho Nóbrega got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edgard Van Der Straeten was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Edgard Van Der Straeten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Paranaense in the 20th minute of play. TIJUCA F.C's Lino Paranaense got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Itaporã's goalkeeper Edgard Van Der Straeten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrézinho Nóbrega. After having played for 25 minutes, Ernani Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itaporã's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernani Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Andrézinho Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the game, TIJUCA F.C's Andrézinho Nóbrega nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgard Van Der Straeten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Itaporã's zone, Lino Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgard Van Der Straeten came out of the goal and Lino Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernani Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fernandinho Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Ernani Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itaporã's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernani Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind TIJUCA F.C's goalkeeper Fernandinho Custódio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernani Carvalho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandinho Custódio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Edgard Van Der Straeten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernani Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Fernandinho Custódio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaporã. After 58 minutes, Sebastião Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TIJUCA F.C and the Itaporã players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute, Sebastião Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Manoel Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Andrézinho Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edgard Van Der Straeten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Nóbrega in the 65th minute of play. TIJUCA F.C's Fernandinho Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Carvalho in the 67th minute of play. TIJUCA F.C's Andrézinho Nóbrega got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernani Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Andrézinho Nóbrega put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Edgard Van Der Straeten. Ernani Carvalho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fernandinho Custódio came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernani Carvalho slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 85th minute. In the 88th match minute, Itaporã was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Britto to maneuver through the defense. Lino Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. TIJUCA F.C's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
