Vitinho Recife hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Tapiru's Válbson Travassos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vitinho Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitinho Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th match minute, Iguitu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitinho Recife to maneuver through the defense. Olívio Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Olívio Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olívio Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dedé Mattos took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júnior Botelho. Júnior Botelho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, Luiz Prado notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Iguitu FC's Rômulo Meireles. Rômulo Meireles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 33 played minutes Olívio Donato rounded Iguitu FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Iguitu FC's Dalmo de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rômulo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rômulo Meireles was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Olívio Donato capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Olívio Donato really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. If Vitinho Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th match minute, Tapiru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olívio Donato to maneuver through the defense.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalmo de Almeida to strike the kick off in the second half. Rômulo Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Donato in the 51st minute of play. After 51 minutes, Giuseppe Marinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tapiru and the Iguitu FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tapiru's Giuseppe Marinho got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, Dalmo de Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olívio Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Meireles having to interfere. Luiz Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the game, Diamantino Abreu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iguitu FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tapiru the free kick. Diamantino Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Rômulo Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Donato in the 61st minute of play. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Iguitu FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Válbson Travassos was slow to take the kick. During this time Tapiru's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Iguitu FC's goalie and right to Giuseppe Marinho. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Iguitu FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Iguitu FC's Rômulo Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Prado in the 70th minute of play. Olívio Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 82nd minute of the match Diamantino Abreu completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Diamantino Abreu a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Iguitu FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Diamantino Abreu hit a great ball. After 86 minutes of play, Tapiru's Luiz Prado made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rômulo Meireles was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute, Luiz Prado made a precise shot to the right of Rômulo Meireles. Iguitu FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. After a defensive mix-up in Iguitu FC's zone, Elivélton Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rômulo Meireles came out of the goal and Elivélton Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
