After a defensive mix-up in Buritirama FC's zone, Inácio Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aloísio Valadares came out of the goal and Inácio Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Zé Augusto Peres came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Buritirama FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Augusto Peres couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute, Cacá Donatello made a precise shot to the right of Aloísio Valadares. Buritirama FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 14thth minute of the game Jarbas Terra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buritirama FC's Aloísio Valadares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cacá Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aloísio Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarbas Terra in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Galheiro's zone, Zé Augusto Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nildo Sanches came out of the goal and Zé Augusto Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Jarbas Terra sped through Buritirama FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aloísio Valadares. Galheiro's Nildo Sanches proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 49th minute of the match, managed to save Galheiro from getting a goal against them. The Buritirama FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Galheiro were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arí Pitta to strike the kick off in the second half. Cacá Donatello might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aloísio Valadares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cacá Donatello ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 63 in the game by Cacá Donatello from a close distance when the talented Aloísio Valadares managed to make a qualified save. Buritirama FC's players were relieved. Cacá Donatello might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aloísio Valadares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cacá Donatello ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 66 in the game by Cacá Donatello from a close distance when the talented Aloísio Valadares managed to make a qualified save. Buritirama FC's players were relieved. Nildo Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Luís Paulo de Lara's late challenge caught a Buritirama FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Paulo de Lara helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd match minute, Galheiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo de Lara to maneuver through the defense. Arí Pitta struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Nildo Sanches didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buritirama FC. Cacá Donatello's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Aloísio Valadares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 84 minutes into the match, Arí Pitta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nildo Sanches. Galheiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arí Pitta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Giuseppe Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Galheiro's Marcinho Cardoso couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 91st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Buritirama FC. Jarbas Terra was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 96 minutes, Gerson Hoffmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buritirama FC and the Galheiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 96 played minutes Buritirama FC got a freekick which was hit by Gerson Hoffmann. Galheiro's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
