An unexpectedly hard shot by Wágner Monteiro in the 26th minute of play forced Jardim Itu FC's goalkeeper Walmir Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes, Ininga's Wilson Netto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Walmir Cavalcante came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ininga reached it. In the 30th match minute, Jardim Itu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enéas do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. If Wágner Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 minutes, Valdemar Vergílio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jardim Itu FC and the Ininga players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 35 played minutes Jardim Itu FC got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Vergílio. Wágner Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Walmir Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Jardim Itu FC's zone, Oscar Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Cavalcante came out of the goal and Oscar Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ininga's Wágner Monteiro in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rogério Sá to make the kick off. Wágner Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Carlos Alberto França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Ininga's goal looked a bit too open when Rogério Sá came free, but Germano Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Jardim Itu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wágner Monteiro came free, but Walmir Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Rogério Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ininga fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Ramiro Ortiz walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Rogério Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
