Leonel Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Zézinho Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilian Prestes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roberto Teixeira hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. When Baitapora's Gilberto Quaresma, in the 11th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Baitapora. After having played for 13 minutes, Leonel Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baitapora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilberto Quaresma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Soares having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Gilberto Quaresma's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zézinho Soares was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Zézinho Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Quaresma in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd match minute, Esteira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Prestes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Luiz Eduardo Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esteira's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Eduardo Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Quaresma in the 31st minute of play forced Esteira's goalkeeper Zézinho Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Leonel Meireles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilberto Quaresma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Soares having to interfere. Leonel Meireles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zézinho Soares having to make a save. Esteira's Zézinho Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Quaresma in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Baitapora's Leonel Meireles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zézinho Soares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Gilberto Quaresma made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Baitapora booed when Esteira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Eduardo Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Baitapora getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Gilberto Quaresma hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilberto Quaresma in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zézinho Soares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th match minute, Esteira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. Esteira's Zézinho Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Quaresma in the 63rd minute of play. Gilberto Quaresma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Soares having to interfere. When Leonel Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Baitapora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Meireles couldn't finish the play. After 70 minutes of play, Baitapora's Gilberto Quaresma made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zézinho Soares was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74thth minute of the game Leonel Meireles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esteira's Zézinho Soares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wilian Prestes hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Baitapora's Mathias Cerezo tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Zézinho Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Meireles in the 82nd minute of play. Leonel Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Zézinho Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute Leonel Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Quaresma took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zézinho Soares. Zézinho Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Gilberto Quaresma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Baitapora fans cheered their team off the field, for while Esteira had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
