After a rather tough play, GePeTaPa's Claudinho Cunha got a free kick in the 2nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Peixoto in the 3rd minute of play forced GePeTaPa's goalkeeper Ciro Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdemar Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Fantini having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, GePeTaPa's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Ribeiro came free, but Ciro Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Reynaldo Ribeiro took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ciro Lopez to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Renan Pena kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ciro Lopez. That made the score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. Ciro Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Ribeiro in the 27th minute of play. Ciro Lopez made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when José Paulo Brasil sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Palmyra AD's zone, Reynaldo Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederico Fantini came out of the goal and Reynaldo Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 35 played minutes GePeTaPa got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Fernandes. João Francisco Peixoto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ciro Lopez. GePeTaPa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Reynaldo Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciro Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Ribeiro in the 43rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the GePeTaPa defense, Renan Pena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciro Lopez. The GePeTaPa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciro Lopez should have stopped the shot. 75 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Ribeiro notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of GePeTaPa's Ciro Lopez. Ciro Lopez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Palmyra AD's zone, Reynaldo Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederico Fantini came out of the goal and Reynaldo Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciro Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Paulo Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Ciro Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Ribeiro in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute José Paulo Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Lopez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palmyra AD's Frederico Fantini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Palmyra AD from getting a goal against them. After 95 played minutes Palmyra AD got a freekick which was hit by Renan Pena. For all the effort they put into the match, the GePeTaPa players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palmyra AD.
