A collision led to Ladeira SS getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Fernandão Macedo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ladeira SS's zone, Váldson Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho Nogueira came out of the goal and Váldson Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruninho Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Ladeira SS's goal looked a bit too open when Bruninho Arce came free, but Jorginho Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson Bueno in the 14th minute of the match. If Bruninho Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Carlos Mattos couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Fernando Cosme during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ladeira SS booed when Grato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Váldson Bueno made a kick off. Ladeira SS's Jorginho Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robinho Matorin in the 52nd minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Grato fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! Fabrício Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Antônio Carlos Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 65 minutes, Dráusio Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ladeira SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dráusio Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74thth minute of the game Dráusio Araújo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grato's Fabrício Prata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruninho Arce got free with Jorginho Nogueira in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabrício Prata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Váldson Bueno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorginho Nogueira was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. 81 minutes into the match, Bruninho Arce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorginho Nogueira. Ladeira SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruninho Arce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2.
