In the 3rd minute, Diogo de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Guerra in the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Guerra in the 6th minute of play forced Jetiba's goalkeeper Ricardo Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léo Alagoano in the 9th minute of play. SPARTA FC's Allan de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save SPARTA FC from getting a goal against them. Roger Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ricardo Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giuseppe Prestes during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Jetiba booed when SPARTA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Ortiz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Giuseppe Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the game, one of Jetiba:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 44 played minutes SPARTA FC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Seco. Léo Alagoano struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ricardo Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SPARTA FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roger Guerra to strike the kick off in the second half. Léo Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horácio Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horácio Borges in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Allan de Amaral saved SPARTA FC from getting behind. Allan de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horácio Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Luisinho Sanches was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SPARTA FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jetiba the free kick. Jetiba's Horácio Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in SPARTA FC's zone, Horácio Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan de Amaral came out of the goal and Horácio Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Rodrigues in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Allan de Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, SPARTA FC's Giovanni Linares got a free kick in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Jetiba's Marco Ortiz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Léo Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SPARTA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Léo Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jetiba's goalkeeper Ricardo Lopez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Ricardo Lopez managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when SPARTA FC's Léo Alagoano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Roger Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SPARTA FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
