In the 18th minute Edmílson de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Duque de Caxias RJ's Christian Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléberson Sena in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Waldir de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geovani das Neves was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from João Pedro de Lara. Christian Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. An unexpected shot in the 47th minute by Fabrício Miranda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

Edmílson de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Lauro Queirós could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Christian Alcântara however easily saved by the left post. Duque de Caxias RJ's Juninho Zanette got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the game, Duque de Caxias RJ's Juninho Zanette nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geovani das Neves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Galhao's Geovani das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Zanette in the 72nd minute of play. Christian Alcântara was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Edmílson de Medeiros capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edmílson de Medeiros really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. The audience was convinced that Juninho Zanette's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geovani das Neves was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Galhao's Cléberson Sena slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Christian Alcântara. That made the score 1-5 after 92 minutes of play.
