The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sarutai's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Zé Pedro Salles scored to the left of an out of position Eliseu Faustino, making the score, 1-0. Clóvis Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Perez having to interfere. Adriano Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nildo Matorin in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Clóvis Saldanha made a precise shot to the right of Adriano Perez. Araripina FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After having played for 16 minutes, Percy Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Araripina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute, Clóvis Saldanha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adriano Perez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 34 minutes, Nildo Matorin made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Araripina FC's Adriano Perez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Clóvis Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Matorin in the 45th minute of play forced Araripina FC's goalkeeper Adriano Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Faria took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adriano Perez. Araripina FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Amílton de Amorim hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nildo Matorin was the one to do the kick off. Clóvis Saldanha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Adriano Perez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Arthur Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araripina FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseu Faustino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clóvis Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Perez having to interfere. Clóvis Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Nildo Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clóvis Saldanhas short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Adriano Perez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 78 minutes, Nildo Matorin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarutai and the Araripina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Araripina FC booed when Sarutai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cauã do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu Faustino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro Salles in the 82nd minute of the match. Arthur Cordeiro hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Nildo Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clóvis Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Perez having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Araripina FC got a freekick which was hit by Percy Rodrigues. Clóvis Saldanha might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adriano Perez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clóvis Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. Hélder Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. When the match was over Sarutai could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Araripina FC throughout the match.
