When Tonhão Martinez fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buritama FC's protests and gave Tonhão Martinez a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Buritama FC got a freekick which was hit by Tonhão Martinez. 6 minutes into the game, Ernani Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ibituba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buritama FC the free kick. Ernani Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 8thth minute of the game Tonhão Martinez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibituba FC's João Augusto Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Tony Martinez managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Ibituba FC's Armando do Nascimento fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Armando do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibituba FC's protests and gave Armando do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. Armando do Nascimento hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Juvenal Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 21 played minutes Ibituba FC got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Queiroz. Jano Matorin struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. João Augusto Sampaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buritama FC. In the 32ndth minute of the game Tonhão Martinez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibituba FC's João Augusto Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute Juvenal Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Augusto Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Buritama FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Juvenal Breckenfeld hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tonhão Martinez in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Augusto Sampaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Buritama FC's Wang Ang Chao got a free kick in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tonhão Martinez to make the kick off. A collision led to Ibituba FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Armando do Nascimento hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ibituba FC's zone, Jano Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Sampaio came out of the goal and Jano Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute Armando do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wang Ang Chao was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 62nd minute, Wang Ang Chao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 66 in the game by Tonhão Martinez from a close distance when the talented João Augusto Sampaio managed to make a qualified save. Ibituba FC's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Jano Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buritama FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Augusto Sampaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Armando do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ibituba FC's Armando do Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Armando do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Martinez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Jano Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buritama FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Augusto Sampaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 83rd play minute Tonhão Martinez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised João Augusto Sampaio. 0-2. Buritama FC's Jano Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
