Kaká Mesquita hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. If Ronaldinho Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldinho Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Guga Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 19 minutes, André Luiz Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pilar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luiz Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ronaldinho Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd match minute, Ipomeia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Araújo to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Kaká Mesquita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dráuzio Rodrigues. Pilar FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaká Mesquita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Silas Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 37 minutes, Zé Carlos Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pilar FC and the Ipomeia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Zé Carlos Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Silas Tróia fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipomeia's protests and gave Silas Tróia a yellow card for diving instead. Dráuzio Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Tróia in the 42nd minute of play. In the 48th minute, Kaká Mesquita made a precise shot to the right of Dráuzio Rodrigues. Pilar FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Ronaldinho Arantes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Guga Sampaio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. André Luiz Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Sampaio having to interfere. The audience was convinced that André Luiz Valadares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guga Sampaio was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. A collision led to Ipomeia getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Luiz Fernando Moura hit a great ball. Ipomeia's Guga Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luiz Valadares in the 64th minute of play. When Kaká Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Ipomeia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaká Mesquita couldn't finish the play. Silas Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dráuzio Rodrigues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaká Mesquita's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Pilar FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. André Luiz Valadares hit a great ball. Dorival Andrade placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a defensive mix-up in Pilar FC's zone, Silas Tróia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dráuzio Rodrigues came out of the goal and Silas Tróia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Kaká Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 101st minute, Pilar FC's André Luiz Valadares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Guga Sampaio. Guga Sampaio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. Ipomeia's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
