The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcelo Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cristóvão de Lima, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 7 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jeremias Fonseca was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 9th minute Cristóvão de Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 12 minutes, Breno Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atletic Bairro Alto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breno Trancoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Breno Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Quintal having to interfere. If Cristóvão de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ABUTRES FC's César Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Peixoto in the 20th minute of play. Jeremias Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiago Leal in the 22nd minute. After some careless play in the ABUTRES FC defense, Breno Trancoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of César Quintal. The ABUTRES FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that César Quintal should have stopped the shot. César Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Marcelo Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. César Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. César Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Peixoto in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Trancoso in the 45th minute of play forced ABUTRES FC's goalkeeper César Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, ABUTRES FC's Abel Magalhães got a free kick in the 46th minute. After 48 played minutes ABUTRES FC got a freekick which was hit by Dadá de Souza. After the first half Clube Atletic Bairro Alto were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cristóvão de Lima made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in ABUTRES FC's zone, Marcelo Peixoto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Quintal came out of the goal and Marcelo Peixoto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Breno Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Cido Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atletic Bairro Alto's supporters rose to their feet, but Cido Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Breno Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Quintal having to interfere. Breno Trancoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over César Quintal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breno Trancoso ran back to his position shaking his head. When Breno Trancoso came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Clube Atletic Bairro Alto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breno Trancoso couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes into the game, Acácio Loureiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ABUTRES FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atletic Bairro Alto the free kick. Breno Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Peixoto in the 90th minute of play forced ABUTRES FC's goalkeeper César Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 minutes, Marcelo Peixoto made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. ABUTRES FC's César Quintal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Breno Trancoso came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Clube Atletic Bairro Alto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breno Trancoso couldn't finish the play. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube Atletic Bairro Alto's goalkeeper Jeremias Fonseca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The ABUTRES FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Clube Atletic Bairro Alto's performance. The match ended with a win for Clube Atletic Bairro Alto.
