The shot was stopped by Ulysses de Brito but with some difficulty. After 15 played minutes Esponjas do Couto got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Carneiro. After having played for 17 minutes, Luís Eduardo de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jubaia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Eduardo de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulão Hames could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Ulysses de Brito made a huge save. The Esponjas do Couto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulão Hames got free with Ulysses de Brito in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Oscar Carioca came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Jubaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Carioca couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, Esponjas do Couto's goal looked a bit too open when Paulão Hames came free, but Ulysses de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 played minutes Esponjas do Couto got a freekick which was hit by Celso Terra. Paulão Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 96 minutes into the game, Albertinho Jacinto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ulysses de Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Esponjas do Couto players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Jubaia from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
