Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Belchior Lira got the match started through his kick off. After 3 minutes of play, Odono's Anísio Ribeiro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dedê Gaspar was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Anísio Ribeiro sped through Varas EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dedê Gaspar. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Dida Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Odono's supporters rose to their feet, but Dida Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedê Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Odono's Dida Ceresso got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nildo Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anísio Ribeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dedê Gaspar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anísio Ribeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Anísio Ribeiro put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dedê Gaspar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luciano Quaresma during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, Odono's Serginho Leal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dedê Gaspar. Dedê Gaspar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anísio Ribeiro got free with Dedê Gaspar in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 38 played minutes Odono got a freekick which was hit by José Maria Arantes. Gilson Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Viana in the 40th minute of play. Odono's Gilson Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Viana in the 40th minute of play. If Dida Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Anísio Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Quaresma hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Dida Ceresso made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida Ceresso in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dedê Gaspar saved Varas EC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Varas EC defense, Serginho Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dedê Gaspar. The Varas EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dedê Gaspar should have stopped the shot. Gilson Ortiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dino Viana in the 63rd minute. In the 66thth minute of the game Serginho Leal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varas EC's Dedê Gaspar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Umberto Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Dedê Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dida Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dedê Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho Leal in the 70th minute of play. The supporters of Odono booed when Varas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdir Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dedê Gaspar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anísio Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. After having played for 77 minutes, Anísio Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Odono's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nildo Domingues struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Dedê Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Odono. Dida Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Dedê Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Anísio Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dedê Gaspar. Varas EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anísio Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. Anísio Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Gaspar having to interfere. Odono's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
