Emanuel Berger made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 20thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Michel Meireles would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Michel Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Fonseca in the 21st minute of the match. Rodrigo Novaes hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. If Emanuel Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Fonseca in the 28th minute of play forced Congonhal's goalkeeper Michel Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Berger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Michel Meireles when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Emanuel Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michel Meireles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Congonhal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valente SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Congonhal's Rodrigo Novaes got a free kick in the 35th minute.
