Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dionísio Cearense started the match with the kick off. Romário Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Araguainha's Márcio Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Araguainha from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Araguainha's Márcio Azevedo got control of the ball when Zé Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th minute, Zé Trigo made a precise shot to the right of Márcio Azevedo. Araguainha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 20th minute, Sílvio do Valle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laerte Palmeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Zé Trigo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márcio Azevedo having to make a save. When Pedro Augusto Donato fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Araguainha's protests and gave Pedro Augusto Donato a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Araguainha getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Donato hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Romário Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márcio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Márcio Azevedo was a little too slow when Romário Abreu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Abreu in the 34th minute of play forced Araguainha's goalkeeper Márcio Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Zé Trigo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. During the 37th minute of the match Pedro Augusto Donato completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Pedro Augusto Donato a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário Abreu to make the kick off. Sílvio do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Márcio Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Aírton Leal fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Araguainha's protests and gave Aírton Leal a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Araguainha fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! Geovânio Trancoso shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Zé Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Márcio Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Zé Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emburana's Zé Trigo got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sílvio do Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Luisinho Chaves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laerte Palmeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Trigo in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Márcio Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sílvio do Valle succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-3 in the 88th playminute. If Sílvio do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Manoel Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Araguainha had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
