The referee ignored Pato Branco's protests and gave Celsinho Bezerra a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes Pato Branco got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Bezerra. If Jeferson Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeferson Freire in the 24th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Juan de Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the game, Evaristo Zanette cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Alexandre da Silva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Basílio Trancoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauro Tinoco in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 57th minute, Felipe de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexandre da Silva was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Pato Branco's zone, Juan de Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basílio Trancoso came out of the goal and Juan de Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeferson Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pato Branco's Celsinho Bezerra got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Celsinho Bezerra off the ground. After a rather tough play, Pato Branco's Celsinho Bezerra got a free kick in the 69th minute. Jeferson Freire's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Basílio Trancoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. After having played for 97 minutes, Juan de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tucuriu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Many of Tucuriu AD's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Tucuriu AD may have spent more time on the ball, but Pato Branco were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
