In the 24th minute, Sabino Marques fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience was convinced that Sabino Marques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sílvio Luiz do Valle was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. When Sabino Marques came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Alagacico EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sabino Marques couldn't finish the play. Alagacico EC's Alex Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doriva Vieira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sabino Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doriva Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Dário Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luiz do Valle having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Imperatriz's Duarte Alvarenga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dário Berger. That made the score 0-1 after 87 minutes of play. Sílvio Luiz do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Hoffmann in the 94th minute of the match. If Doriva Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chants of Imperatriz echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Alagacico EC had held the ball for most of the match.
