If Duarte Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eriberto Rodrigues made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Duarte Alvarenga sent off a good shot on target. After 8 minutes, Doriva Vieira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Imperatriz and the Cururu players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cururu booed when Imperatriz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Luiz do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Cordeiro in the 11th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Imperatriz's Duarte Alvarenga got a free kick in the 13th minute. Anísio Gaúcho hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Duarte Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Inácio Tande's late challenge caught a Imperatriz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio Tande helped the player get up and apologised. Inácio Tande hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Luisinho Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luiz do Valle having to interfere. Hermínio Braga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sílvio Luiz do Valle having to make a save. Sílvio Luiz do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Duarte in the 28th minute of play. Hermínio Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Braga in the 34th minute of play forced Imperatriz's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermínio Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Sílvio Luiz do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duarte Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Rodrigues having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Doriva Vieira was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Imperatriz's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Eger came free, but Sílvio Luiz do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sílvio Luiz do Valle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hermínio Braga showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 59 minute of play. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Imperatriz! Inácio Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Eriberto Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Vieira in the 68th minute of the match. Doriva Vieira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eriberto Rodrigues having to make a save. Hermínio Braga hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. If Hermínio Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Sílvio Luiz do Valle managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Cururu's Hermínio Braga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 92 minutes into the game, Luisinho Duarte recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sílvio Luiz do Valle. Luisinho Duarte showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Imperatriz's Sílvio Luiz do Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Imperatriz from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lúcio Porto during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Imperatriz getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Lúcio Porto hit a great ball. 100 minutes into the game, Hermínio Braga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sílvio Luiz do Valle. Hermínio Braga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cururu walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
