After a rather tough play, Maraua's David de Souza got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 6 minutes into the game, one of Maraua:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Valdemar Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carmona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Leal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 14 minutes of play, Maraua's David de Souza made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abel Simão was left in no man's land by his defense there! 18 minutes into the match, Maraua's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Leal came free, but Vicente Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dedê Diniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Bertassi having to interfere. Carmona FC's Dedê Diniz was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 24th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dedê Diniz got free with Vicente Bertassi in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Carmona FC booed when Maraua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. David de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Maraua's goalkeeper Vicente Bertassi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dedê Diniz. 44 minutes into the match, Maraua's Dino Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abel Simão narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Reginaldo Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vicente Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The attack was good, but when Dedê Diniz in the 63rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After a rather tough play, Maraua's Dino Souza got a free kick in the 65th minute. After a rather tough play, Maraua's Eurico de Toledo got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Valdemar Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 played minutes Maraua got a freekick which was hit by Dino Souza. Gláuber Azevedo hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. When David de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Maraua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David de Souza couldn't finish the play.
