Niteroi EC's Antônio Carlos Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Doni Nóbrega's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duarte Veiga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doni Nóbrega in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duarte Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Antônio Carlos Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 41 minutes into the match, Dedé Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chiquinho Costa. TOP™ - Cebolandia F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dedé Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Chiquinho Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Recife in the 45th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in TOP™ - Cebolandia F.C's zone, Antônio Carlos Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquinho Costa came out of the goal and Antônio Carlos Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Mané Saldanha made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Sydney Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Doni Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Saldanha in the 59th minute of the match. The referee gave Niteroi EC a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Armandinho Paranaense, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of TOP™ - Cebolandia F.C's Chiquinho Costa. 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in TOP™ - Cebolandia F.C's zone, Dedé Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquinho Costa came out of the goal and Dedé Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 minutes of play, Niteroi EC's Dedé Abraão made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chiquinho Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Antônio Carlos Recife took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chiquinho Costa. Chiquinho Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. If Dedé Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dedé Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antônio Carlos Recife took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chiquinho Costa. Chiquinho Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Gerson Galvão hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. If Antônio Carlos Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chiquinho Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Niteroi EC fully deserved thier win.
