Anísio Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 6th minute, Téo Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th minute, Jano do Nascimento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anísio Maranhense was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Jabuti's goalkeeper Júlio Vasconcelos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Téo Correia. After a defensive mix-up in Jabuti's zone, Narciso de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Narciso de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Jabuti's Júlio Vasconcelos got control of the ball when Téo Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Pão de açúcar coraçãozin's goal looked a bit too open when Oséias Velloso came free, but Anísio Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Téo Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Vasconcelos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Narciso de Mendonça showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 26 minute of play. In the 29th minute, Jano do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso de Mendonça in the 31st minute of play. Armando Sampaio hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 36th match minute, Jabuti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Augusto de Senna to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Téo Correia got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Narciso de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Júlio Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Téo Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adelino Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Téo Correia was the one to do the kick off. Anísio Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Augusto de Senna in the 53rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jabuti's zone, Narciso de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Narciso de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute, Téo Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Augusto de Senna during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pão de açúcar coraçãozin booed when Jabuti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute Oséias Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Jabuti fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! Ismael Cordeiro's late challenge caught a Pão de açúcar coraçãozin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ismael Cordeiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, Jabuti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 81stth minute of the game Téo Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jabuti's Júlio Vasconcelos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th minute, Narciso de Mendonça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Téo Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Téo Correia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Júlio Vasconcelos having to make a save.
