Gil Affonso's late challenge caught a Ancora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gil Affonso helped the player get up and apologised. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Jerônimo Tinoco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mosqueteiro Alvi Negro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ancora the free kick. Jerônimo Tinoco hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Doni Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Marinho in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Delfim Lopes made the kick off in the second half. Doni Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastião Jacinto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Narciso de Lara made a huge save. In the 57th minute of the match Flávio Nunes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Doni Amaral skillfully saved the ball. Sebastião Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Lopes in the 81st minute of play forced Ancora's goalkeeper Narciso de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mosqueteiro Alvi Negro booed when Ancora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delfim Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Sebastião Jacinto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Narciso de Lara when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 94 minutes of play Mosqueteiro Alvi Negro's Jerônimo Tinoco was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Mosqueteiro Alvi Negro's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
