Nuno Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. A collision led to Saracuru SC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Evandro Machado hit a great ball. Haroldo Mendes hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Ismael Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Nuno Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 19 minutes on the clock, Tarcisio Correia commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 19th minute, one of Saracuru SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Saracuru SC. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Gremio Imortal Tricolor. Váldson Catarinense stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nuno Botelho. 0-1. Cristóvão de Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Giovani Furlan made a huge save. Giovani Furlan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristóvão de Amaral in the 29th minute. After a rather tough play, Gremio Imortal Tricolor's Marquinhos Rosado got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Cristóvão de Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giovani Furlan having to make a save. Cássio Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Cristóvão de Amaral could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Giovani Furlan however easily saved by the left post. In the 46th minute, Cristóvão de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Frederico Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

João Vítor Lucas hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Váldson Catarinense succeeded in the game's 56th minute to get real power on a long shot . Saracuru SC's Nuno Botelho hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-2! If Evandro Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frederico Veiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Nuno Botelho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Gremio Imortal Tricolor's Cristóvão Mello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Botelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 75th minute Cristóvão Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evandro Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristóvão de Amaral took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Giovani Furlan. Giovani Furlan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The supporters of Gremio Imortal Tricolor booed when Saracuru SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Gremio Imortal Tricolor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gremio Imortal Tricolor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
