Horácio Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Mineiro in the 11th minute of play. Aníbal Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aracai SC's Luís Fabiano Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mário Brasil during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 21 played minutes Itapemirim S.A. got a freekick which was hit by Mário Brasil. After having played for 25 minutes, Arthur Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapemirim S.A.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Arthur Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aracai SC's Horácio Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Aracai SC from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the match, Clemente Souto notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Itapemirim S.A.'s Dalmo Souza. Dalmo Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When João Bueno fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aracai SC's protests and gave João Bueno a yellow card for diving instead. João Bueno hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. If Aníbal Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Aníbal Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapemirim S.A.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Aníbal Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horácio Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arthur Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. In the 47thth minute of the game Aníbal Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aracai SC's Horácio Luz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clemente Souto was the one to do the kick off. Horácio Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Mineiro in the 57th minute of the match. Nilson Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Horácio Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Mineiro in the 62nd minute of play. After 64 minutes of play, Aracai SC's Luís Fabiano Pombal made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dalmo Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Horácio Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Urbano in the 67th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yuri Madureira during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Aracai SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Itapemirim S.A.. Thomás Capixaba stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Horácio Luz. 2-2. During the 75th minute of the match João Bueno completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave João Bueno a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The referee gave Itapemirim S.A. a penalty, 78 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Thomás Capixaba, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Aracai SC's Horácio Luz. 3-2. In the 81st minute, Erivaldo Ferraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clemente Souto kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Dudu Urbano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aníbal Amaral in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horácio Luz saved Aracai SC from getting behind. Dudu Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Luz having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Carlos Veiga during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute, Zé Carlos Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Itapemirim S.A.'s Thomás Capixaba couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Aracai SC. Horácio Luz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aníbal Amaral went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Itapemirim S.A. fully deserved thier win.
