In the 6th minute, Manoel Marquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nando Pires was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Borges in the 11th minute of play forced Mortugaba's goalkeeper Nando Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Acácio Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gil Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gil Simões made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Acácio Batista sent off a good shot on target. In the 21st minute, Manoel Marquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mighty Snails fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Nando Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benedito Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Gil Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mortugaba's Nando Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Borges in the 42nd minute of play. The Mortugaba players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mighty Snails were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Benedito Gerber made the kick off in the second half. Gil Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Acácio Batista in the 53rd minute of the match. Manoel Marquez came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nando Pires could save by the left post. Manoel Marquez took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nando Pires. Nando Pires dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Gil Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celso Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Celso Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manoel Marquez might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nando Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manoel Marquez ran back to his position shaking his head. Felippe Proença, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Mortugaba's Acácio Batista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gil Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
