When Luís Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Engenheiros Químicos PE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Antunes couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in GREMIO OSASCO F.C's zone, Luís Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Furtado came out of the goal and Luís Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luís Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Antunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. GREMIO OSASCO F.C's Frédson Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Antunes in the 67th minute of play. In the 71st minute Abelardo Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Quaresma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 75th minute, when Engenheiros Químicos PE's Baltazar de Almeida after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Frédson Furtado in GREMIO OSASCO F.C's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch.
