Luís Guilherme Goiano lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Engenheiros Químicos PE! The referee gave Olarias EC a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rubens Monteiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Engenheiros Químicos PE's Vítor Quaresma. 0-2. In the 33rd minute, Mathias Messias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vítor Quaresma was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. If Pedro Paulo Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Lago to make the kick off. Pedrinho Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Pedrinho Moreno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Antunes went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso Sabóia during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Engenheiros Químicos PE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Antunes to maneuver through the defense. When Pedro Paulo Santos came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Engenheiros Químicos PE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Paulo Santos couldn't finish the play. Pedrinho Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Antunes in the 94th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Olarias EC's Dênis Pirani got a free kick in the 95th minute.
