Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cido Bastos took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Mathias Zanette came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Guimaraes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias Zanette couldn't finish the play. Válbson Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Betinho Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, Guimaraes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Bastos came free, but Haroldo Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroldo Souza was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Manfredo Pinho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Manfredo Pinho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuca de Alcântara during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th minute, Samuca de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betinho Guimarães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lauro Bastos went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 22 minutes, Lauro Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guimaraes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lauro Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lauro Bastos struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Betinho Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guimaraes FC. Manfredo Pinho succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 33rd playminute. After a defensive mix-up in Ariranha AD's zone, Tomás Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho Guimarães came out of the goal and Tomás Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mathias Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Augusto Carvalho made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Guimaraes FC's Válbson Lucas. Betinho Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lauro Bastos's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Guimaraes FC's Kaká Porto got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute Tomás Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lauro Bastos to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Manfredo Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haroldo Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido Bastos in the 54th minute of the match. Ariranha AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rafinha Quintal in the 56th minute. The corner ended in Rafinha Quintal almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Guimaraes FC's Haroldo Souza did a great save. After 57 minutes of play Guimaraes FC's Samuca de Alcântara was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Samuca de Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Guimaraes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Bastos came free, but Haroldo Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 62 played minutes Ariranha AD got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Neto. Lauro Bastos in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Betinho Guimarães, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guimaraes FC's goalkeeper Haroldo Souza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Guimaraes FC's Lauro Bastos got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Betinho Guimarães was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kaká Porto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 69 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lauro Bastos in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Betinho Guimarães saved Ariranha AD from getting behind. Lauro Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Guimarães having to interfere. Betinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauro Bastos in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Kaká Porto made a precise shot to the right of Betinho Guimarães. Ariranha AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. 88 minutes into the game, Lauro Bastos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-6. Betinho Guimarães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lauro Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guimaraes FC's Haroldo Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Pinho in the 95th minute of play. Guimaraes FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
