Thomás de Brito's late challenge caught a Icem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomás de Brito helped the player get up and apologised. Thomás de Brito hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. With his leg David Saldanha managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Icem's Nestor Domingues fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Imprensa's Leonardo Veiga got a free kick in the 9th minute. Mazinho Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. When Mazinho Paiva got the opportunity to take care of a free kick, it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball hit the crossbar and flew out of bounds. David Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Domingues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mazinho Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Icem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mazinho Paiva couldn't finish the play. In the 20th match minute, Imprensa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Goiano to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Nestor Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Icem's supporters rose to their feet, but Nestor Domingues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edu Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Brasil in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to Imprensa getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Carlos Goiano hit a great ball. The supporters of Imprensa booed when Icem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wilton Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edu Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Brasil in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Icem's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Veiga came free, but Edu Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edu Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilton Schmidt went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Carlos Alberto Gaspar's late challenge caught a Imprensa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Alberto Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Icem's Gugu Pitta was substituted for Renatinho Madureira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisinho Brasil got free with Edu Fonseca in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Icem's Benjamim Breckenfeld was substituted for Gugu Pitta. A collision led to Imprensa getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Leonardo Veiga hit a great ball. Luisinho Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Edu Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nestor Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonardo Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vânderson Souto's late challenge caught a Icem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vânderson Souto helped the player get up and apologised. After 75 played minutes Imprensa got a freekick which was hit by Vânderson Souto. Luisinho Brasil struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Edu Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imprensa. With a little luck, Icem's Edu Fonseca got control of the ball when Luisinho Brasil tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88thth minute of the game Nestor Domingues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Imprensa's David Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edu Fonseca made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Leonardo Veiga sent off a good shot on target. 91 minutes into the game, Nestor Domingues cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. David Saldanha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
