CiaNorte-Paraná's Ulysses Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabino Cerezo in the 3rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Alexandre Medeiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doriva Barral was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Alexandre Medeiros might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Doriva Barral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Medeiros ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute, Alexandre Medeiros reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Doriva Barral. The goal made the score 1-0. Tostão Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Ulysses Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabino Cerezo in the 36th minute of the match. When Tostão Mazza fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CiaNorte-Paraná's protests and gave Tostão Mazza a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Exapora booed when CiaNorte-Paraná was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Exapora's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernando Messias in the 40th minute. If Geovanni Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, CiaNorte-Paraná's Marcus Bueno got a free kick in the 44th minute. If Sabino Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandre Medeiros to make the kick off. Doriva Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Geovanni Salgado might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulysses Mineiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovanni Salgado ran back to his position shaking his head. Geovanni Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michel Peixoto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Ulysses Mineiro made a huge save. Mário Paraíba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Doriva Barral. Exapora's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Geovanni Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sabino Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Exapora booed when CiaNorte-Paraná was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Paraíba didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the game, Geovanni Salgado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ulysses Mineiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Exapora players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
